Rome.

I landed at Fiumicino Airport, coming in from Hannover's airport. The train into the city was the most Snowpiercer train I'd ever been on. As people were pouring into the last open door at the back of the train, people were refusing to move forward. So the back of the train was crowded. Smelly. Dirty. I finally clambered my way over bags and people and made my way to the front of the train. Where it was clean. Airy. Nice.

Popping out of the St. Pietro train station you're instantly surrounded by Old Stuff™. This is what I was greeted with, within seconds of stepping into the street.

St. Peter's Basilica.

I was late into Rome. Not only had I messed up the dates for getting from Hannover to Rome, but my flight was delayed. So I missed out on the Vatican and Colosseum tours that had been booked. But I did see the Pantheon. And Trevi Fountain.

We hired bikes and went for a tootle around Rome, seeing a Pyramid (it predates Christianity!), an ancient cobbled road that was quite unpleasant to ride on, and a few other bits and bobs.

There was a lot of street art and many stickers that I documented, too. As well as many Piaggio Apes (Ah-peh, not aype). But they will each get their own email to consolidate it down a bit.

Roma, over and out. Napoli and Pompei(i) next.
