Trento. And surrounds.

Trento. And surrounds.

We headed out of Venice in a hire-car (not organised by us, so it wasn't a Lancia Shitbox) and into the hills. It felt less and less like Italy the further into the hills we went, but I can't really put my finger on what it felt more like. I've not really travelled in Austria, Switzerland, or Germany, so I can't say that it felt more like them (it certainly didn't feel like Hannover) with any certainty, but maybe it felt more like what I imagine Austria and Switzerland feel like.

It was beautiful. Mountains for days, and different mountains to what we're used to in Australia. And very different mountains to what we're used to in South Australia. I mean. Look at them.

Nestled in amongst these mountains are lakes. One of them being Lake Garda. It was a stunning spot for a swim - and not at all as crowded as I thought it was going to be.

The main reason we ended up in Trento was to go to a wedding. It was an extravagant affair in a very old building. A singing DJ. Delicious food where you were offered seconds of the course you're on if you finished your plate. Stunning views.

This is where my trip wound up. I hopped on a couple of trains to Milan, then boarded a flight to Singapore. Pretty sad to leave the adventure behind.

But I will be back.

Regular photo posts coming back shortly.
