Venezia.

I'd never seen anything like it. It's beautiful. Stunningly beautiful, really. Around every corner was something new - a canal, a little piazza, another windy alley, a set of ornate stairs over an ornate bridge. A dead end.

There are three leaning towers.

Lots of boats.

Interesting doorbells.

And there's a local food tradition called chicchetti. Little plates of food. Absolutely magnificently delicious.

I didn't fall in love with Venice, and after the three nights I was well and truly ready to go somewhere else. That else was up into the Dolomites. The last stop of the trip.

That's next.
